Looks like an alien? Let’s get acquainted
At first glance, the bag’s atypical opening might seem puzzling and off-putting. You might wonder, “Why complicate the design when standard solutions have worked for years?” Allow us to explain.
The most distinctive feature of the Alien bag is its diagonal opening. When unzipped halfway, the bag’s flaps spread to the sides. They resemble the open egg of a xenomorph – the titular alien from Ridley Scott’s 1979 film “Alien.” You might ask about this macabre inspiration for those who’ve seen this cult horror (and if you haven’t, we highly recommend it). We’ll tell you a secret: cinema is one of our passions. We’ve already revealed our weakness for films like “Taxi Driver” and “Rambo: First Blood” in our article about the M65 jacket. We value iconic classics and take great joy in subtly referencing them in the products we design for you. And we know you love it too.
The Alien Bag: more practical than you think
Of course, we didn’t create a bag with such an opening just on a whim. We always consider how much functionality we can pack into one product, and this time was no exception. The diagonal opening has several practical applications.
Find everything in this bag
You know that feeling when you open a bag or backpack and blindly rummage around to find that one small item that’s fallen to the bottom? With our Alien, this problem doesn’t exist. The diagonally opening flaps can be unzipped along their entire length. It gives you access to every nook and cranny of its interior. In fact, you can lay the bag flat and arrange everything according to your needs. Four zippered mesh organizers and the bright, fluorescent interior of the bag help you spot every little item. Thanks to the compression straps, you can keep the arranged contents in check so nothing shifts around.
Fit (almost) everything in this bag
The Alien was conceived as a product for carrying more significant amounts of equipment, for example, to the shooting range, hence its presence in the Patrol Line. However, this doesn’t mean you’ll get a “bag police” fine if you pack it for a vacation. On the contrary, we encourage you to use our products in the way that suits you best. And with this product, there really are plenty of possibilities. 122 liters is a lot of space, and the bag has a cuboid shape, so it’s very convenient to organize its interior. The coil zippers and Cordura exterior will last longer than the average outdoor store bag.
Do everything on this bag
Naturally, we also took advantage of the fact that the Alien can be laid flat. The bottom of the bag and one wall are lined with soft foam. After emptying it, you can stand on it and change clothes. This will come in handy before and/or after a visit to the shooting range, after field exercises, or even after winter swimming. The bag also comes with a sealed bag for dirty/wet clothes or shoes. Thus, the Alien bag doubles as a compact changing room for taking off and storing dirty/wet items. In a pinch, the unfolded bag can also serve as an improvised ground insulation. Although due to its dimensions, it’s better suited as a sitting mat than a sleeping mat.
The Alien Bag: adapts to your needs
Since the bag is large and capacious, it may become quite heavy when fully packed. We’ve thought about this too. Depending on the situation, the Alien is equipped with several carrying options. It has a detachable shoulder strap, which is sufficient for carrying from home to car. Of course, it also has handles for carrying by hand. Also, handles on the narrower sides of the bag make it easier to move the bag. These also allow for easy two-person carrying. We’ve saved the best for last. You can convert the bag into a backpack if you need to walk a longer distance. It’s useful when you need your hands free. The removable straps can be quickly attached so that the bottom of the Alien. It becomes the back part of the backpack.
This bag really offers a ton of possibilities.
Fun fact
Some have already checked that while the Alien bag doesn’t fit eight passengers, one can fit in without a problem. However, we warn you, don’t try this at home!
