Build your perfect range kit

2 min. reading

Are you preparing for a competition? Work training? Or you’re just an enthusiast? In any case, you need range kit. Long-range shooting, 3-Gun, IPSC, or recreational shooting? Anyway, you will need a bag, case, and other functional tactical gear when working with firearms.

Check out our suggestions and pick something that suits you.

Which range bag?

Our range bags feature rigid walls and are lined with soft hook & loop inside. This makes them compatible with our Versatile Insert System (VIS). Below, we outline the differences between these bags.

Mission Bag (16.8 L) – this is the smallest yet spacious range bag. Inside, a single divider can be repositioned or removed as needed. It has seven pockets and can be attached, for example, to a car seat to keep everything within reach.

Range Bag (18 L) – a slightly larger, modular bag with a side panel. You can unzip it for easy access to the interior. It has five external pockets, a removable internal divider with an additional pocket. Also, it has and seven hook & loop inserts: four for pistol and three for rifle magazines.

Rangemaster Bag (41 L) – a large, spacious bag with nine pockets, two hook & loop dividers, two removable stiffening panels, and a sturdy carrying strap. The side pocket of this bag is designed to hold the Automotive Med Kit.

Which gun case?

Depending on the firearm you take to the range, there are several options to choose from, mainly differing in size. Each product also has a rigid structure lined with soft hook & loop inside, making it compatible with the VIS system. It also has hook & loop panels on the outside for personalization. Importantly, each case is lockable with zippers that can be secured with a padlock to protect the contents. Let’s start from the smallest to the largest.

Single Pistol Wallet – this wallet fits one revolver or pistol and two magazines. The two VIS inserts included securely hold everything in place.

Double Pistol Wallet – as the name suggests, this is a larger version of the above, fitting two revolvers or pistols and three magazines. The two VIS inserts included securely hold everything in place.

Double Upper Rifle Bag 18 – this bag fits one AR rifle with two barrels and optics attached, two short-barreled AR rifles, or two AK rifles in standard configuration. It has concealed shoulder straps and three external pockets for accessories and magazines. It also comes with two inserts: one for five rifle magazines and one for two pistol magazines. Great potential as a range kit.

Which med kit?

Safety first. From our extensive Medical Line, we’ve selected three options suitable for range activities. And for your range kit.

Automotive Med Kit – a large, fold-out car first aid kit. It’s designed to be stored independently or carried in the Rangemaster bag. Inside, one side has two zippered mesh pockets, and the other has shock cords to secure the contents. The removable, double-sided panel is covered with soft hook & loop and VIS inserts. This kit provides quick access to the interior and holds plenty of supplies.

Competition Med Kit – a part of the Competition Series designed for sports shooting. It can be carried independently or on a belt with the rest of the gear. It has an external structure with a medication pouch and space for a tactical tourniquet. Convenient pullers on both sides allow quick access to the contents by pulling one of them.

Modular Individual Med Kit – this is a small kit for use in all circumstances. It consists of a pouch worn on the belt and an insert that opens crosswise. Inside, there’s space for the first aid contents, so it can be laid flat and accessed with a single movement.

Chest rigs and plate carriers

You must choose the appropriate range kit depending on your shooting activity. In our range, you will find the Guardian Plate Carrier with an extensive series of accessories, pouches, and several chest rigs.

Guardian Plate Carrier – a universal modular design. It allows the carrying of ballistic plates, and the mounting of additional equipment directly on the vest. If you don’t want to build your set yourself, you can choose one of our pre-made configurations. We have Military Set and Law Enforcement Set.

Competition Multigun Rig – this set is designed for dynamic shooting in Multigun format. It is small and versatile, with an optional modular sleeve and a micro chest rig, and it serves as a base for further customization.

Training Mini Rig – a symmetrical, simple chest rig with an essential supply of magazines, extra ammunition, tools, a flashlight, etc.

Chicom Chest Rig – light and ideal for operations in confined spaces. Will work in urban areas and wherever you want to carry the least amount of gear while keeping a full range of motion. It is also great for tactical exercises and shooting training.

Other range accessories

While building your range kit, you might also need an ammunition container, a shooting mat, or an ammo dump pouch. We encourage you to check out our Traveler Enlarged Range Chair.
